Beverly Allen met Richard Brautigan in San Francisco, December 1969, just prior to publication of Rommel Drives On Deep into Egypt. Allen posed for the front cover photograph. Includes transcripts of letters she wrote to Brautigan and three photographs of Allen by Edmund Shea, including the one used as the cover for Rommel Drives On Deep into Egypt.
